"Impromptu" is a modern work for solo trumpet, commissioned by trumpeter and friend Wesley Woodward. This piece is split into two main sections; the first utilizes a main theme 12 tone row, which then gets put through various transformations and variations. The second is much faster, and is meant to sound like a "chromatic and atonal" improvisation.
