"Primaries" for Saxophone Trio is a unique work for saxophone trio. Each movement is performed by three of the same saxophone type (3 tenors, 3 altos, and 3 sopranos). The titles refer to the energy and "vibe" given by the three primary colors.
 
Movement 1, "Blue," features three tenor saxophones in a jazz-gospel chorale, inspired by the "cool" and "chill" nature of the color blue.

Movement 2, "Red," features three alto saxophones with a sultry tango in 7/8, inspired by the "sensual" nature of the color red.

Movement 3, "Yellow," is a lightning fast movement featuring three soprano saxophones, with non-stop running 16th notes, inspired by the "bright" and "energetic" nature of the color yellow.
